Community involvement

The toll free community information line has been established to enable you to ask questions and find out information about the project. You can call the project team on 1800 725 321.

If you call outside business hours, please leave a message so that we can return your call. (If you let us know if it is convenient for us to call you back after hours, we are happy to do so.)

Project information centre

The RTA and Abigroup consider that positive community involvement benefits all parties through two-way communication, consultation and education.

A display centre has been established as part of the Abigroup project site office on Bonville Station Road, Bonville.

The centre is open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays).

You can view various displays on the project, showing the route with photographs of the project works. Brochures, posters, diagrams, cross sections etc. are also available. The community relations team are located at this office, and will be happy to assist you with any enquiries.

Advertisements

Advertisements are regularly published in the local newspapers to explain the current status of the project and inform the public about traffic changes and other factors affecting the community. A construction update advertisement will be published every 3 months and traffic information will be published on an as required basis.

Community updates

Community updates will be published to coincide with major milestones and distributed in all areas of the local community affected by the works. These outline the status of the project, construction progress, upcoming construction stages, environmental management and community involvement achievements as well as information on project displays and locations.

Other notices, leaflets and flyers

Letterbox drop notices, leaflets and flyers will be sent out to inform and advise local community members of any changes affecting individual properties, residents and businesses.

Community interest group

A community interest group has been established for the construction stage of the project works. Issues for discussion are likely to include local vehicle, pedestrian and cyclist requirements, construction stage traffic diversions, noise control measures, air and water quality and landscaping requirements. The community interest group is made up of members of local communities, Coffs Harbour and Bellingen Shire Council staff officers, the Environmental Management Representative, and representatives from RTA and Abigroup project teams. The group meets every 2 months and meeting notes can be viewed in the Information documents section of this website.
